Description
Goal: write a keygen. Patching a branch is not a solution. lamplighter is a night-clerk keygenme written in Python. Run it with py -3 lamplighter.py. It takes one name and one serial from standard input, then exits. Standard library only. It does not use the network, and it does not open a browser. No packer and no anti-debug. Python 3.9 or newer. Input name> 3 to 20 characters: letters, digits, spaces, and hyphens. Letter case does not matter. Anything else is rejected. serial> NK-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX NK- is literal uppercase. Each group is four hex digits. Lowercase hex digits are accepted. Output Bad name: The clerk cannot spell that name. Bad shape: That is not a ledger serial. Wrong serial: The lamp stays dark. Right serial: The clerk stamps the ledger. Lantern CMO{........}. The success sentence is not stored as plaintext. It is rebuilt from the entered serial, so forcing one branch does not print it. Auto-validation name: CrackMes1 The flag is the CMO{........} token that this name prints. Difficulty 3. A decoy algorithm, a picture with a lying caption, and a custom mix. The public file is one Python script. Hint: the first main is a guest, and the moth's serial is for the porch next door. The picture's caption is not the combination. The words in the paint are not the combination either. A few names make the clerk talk; those lines are not the stamp.
