justAuser I think they wanted you to actually crack it and not just leak the password, it's not that difficult even!
Zylo on 2024-05-29 15:34:
Cracked using IDA Pro :)) - This Is A Very good quality CrackMe!
Shai on 2024-05-30 05:43:
Pretty easy, not too hard to patch took me 2 minutes with Binary Ninja Pro
Lxwxrs on 2024-06-05 18:18:
@Shai, @Zylo if you just patch - it isn't a "crack"! This "CrackMe" actually can be named "KeyGen Me"!
imeow256 on 2024-06-06 10:37:
ok but next time at least put the architecture right, it's x86 not x64
Lxwxrs on 2024-06-09 09:54:
@imeow256 will this help you somehow? LOL
Lxwxrs on 2024-06-13 19:30:
Okay, since nobody seemed to grasp the main catch of this crackme, I'll lay it all out. This crackme takes your computer's username. That's why neither the password from the solution nor any previously leaked passwords will work. With this knowledge, you can easily trace the function or part of the code that does this, or simply modify the existing solution.

I really had a fun time cracking this thx

The key-generating function upon an username is located at: 00401220.
DeBoogie on 2024-08-20 00:32:
It reads your username from the environment variables on your computer and converts each character to an ASCII decimal value. That's your password.
junfer001 on 2024-10-27 19:55:
Just after you input the password it compares it with your username :D it also shows the password that was generated from your username. from there its just a reverse engineer ASCII.
Really fun one. Took me a long time before i tried that as password since i tought it would be harder hahaha
