Description

This crackme features a custom PE packer. The unpacked PE if you manage to extract it has Simple Compile-Time Obfuscation. There is no static password to solve the crackme, each person has their own key as well so no reusable keys. Have fun!

nightxyz on 2025-07-21 20:54: No need to unpack it. Password is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\MachineGuid value. Each user has unique MachineGuid.

nightxyz on 2025-07-22 10:44: The program doesn't work properly anyway. Sometimes it works after a second double-click. Sometimes it says Access Denied, sometimes it displays mixed ASCII characters instead of "access denied" message, and sometimes it displays a message with blank characters. So, i didn't struggle with your custom PE packer. In x64dbg, after some unpacking routines, i came successfully accessed the unpacked file entry point which comes after initterm, argc and argv routines.

kwenma on 2025-07-22 10:56: yea i had some issues while writing the compile-time obf. I have a new one coming where none of those issues are present and the program should work, it also wont be as easy as just a reg should be releasing any time now
